Meet Jeff
Jeff Katon is the beloved son of Louis and Joyce Katon. He grew up in Taunton, MA with an older brother, Chris, a twin brother, Mark and a younger sister, Melissa. After graduating from Taunton High School, he attended Framingham State College. He then began to pursue a career in restaurant management.
He left home in 1998 and began working in West Palm Beach, FL for a corporate owned restaurant. After having great success in West Palm Beach, he was asked to open new locations in both New Jersey and Ohio. He then took on the challenge of reviving a multimillion dollar restaurant in Hilton Head Island, SC. Jeff loved Hilton Head and this was why he chose to settle down there and start to call Hilton Head home.
In the spring of 2004 he decided to open his own restaurant on Hilton Head Island. Over the next year and a half his dream transpired into what is now know as Aqua Grille and Lounge.
Aqua Grille and Lounge opened in April of 2006 and almost immediately became "the" new place to go on the Island for excellent food, great service and a relaxing atmosphere. Only four months after seeing his dream come true, Jeff died in a tragic automobile accident.
Jeff was an avid Red Sox fan, following the team during their unbelievable 2004 World Championship season to Boston, Baltimore, ALCS games in New York and ending the season in St. Louis for Game 4 of the World Series. He was also an exceptional golfer and loved nothing better than to play in Hawaii.
Jeff spent the last two years of his life working on making his dream a reality. His family has decided to continue his vision and now owns and operates Aqua Grille and Lounge. Jeff is missed greatly, he meant the world to all of us.
