2009 Winner:
Congratulations Emily!!!
On behalf of the Jeff Katon Scholarship Foundation Board of Directors, I would like to formally congratulate Emily Natoli as the 2009 JPK scholarship winner. Emily is a senior at Hilton Head High School with a 4.8 GPA, who is enrolled at Vanderbilt University this fall. She is very energetic and personable, loves SEC football, is all-scholastic soccer player and a member of the National Honor Society. In addition to sharing a love of popsicles with her late grandfather, Emily includes Audrey Hepburn, Mia Hamm and her parents as her biggest inspirations. Congratulations again Emily.
2008 Winner:
The recipient of the $3,000 2008 scholarship was Lauren Stickles of Hilton Head High School. Lauren displays a passion and drive in her studies, and has goals that personify Jeff’s spirit. She has a GPA of 4.1, SAT scores of 1470 and plans to attend Clemson University to study nursing. The Board of the Foundation was impressed with her scholastic achievements and her passion for caring for others.
Lauren is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, MU Alpha Theta and Go Green. In addition she plays tennis for her school team as well as USTA leagues. Lauren is involved with community organizations such as Girl Scouts and Serteens. She has been a member of Girl Scouts for ten years and is currently a troop leader for Twilight Camp.
